ABOUT TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK: Tanjung Puting National Park is a national park in Indonesia located in the southeast part of West Kotawaringin Regency in the Indonesian province of Central Kalimantan (Central Borneo). The nearest main town is the capital of the Regency, Pangkalan Bun. The park is famous for its orangutan conservation. The park was set aside in the 1930s by the Dutch colonial government for the protection of the orangutans and proboscis monkey, and was designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1977 and a national park in 1982.

In addition to orangutans and proboscis monkeys, the park is also home to gibbons, macaques, clouded leopards, sun bears, wild boars, porcupines, and sambar deer. The park also features many reptiles, including crocodiles, monitor lizards, and pythons, birds, including hornbills and kingfishers, and insects, such as the giant Bornean butterfly. The Pondok Ambung Tropical Forest Research Station was established in 2005 for the study of all wild species found in the park. Today Tanjung Puting National Park is a popular ecotourism destination, with many local tour companies offering multi-day boat tours to view wildlife and visit the research centers. The park was home to 105,000 people as of 1997. The park was heavily damaged by fires in 1997 and 1998, and today remains threatened by illegal logging, illegal mining, and forest clearing for agricultural uses. Conservation efforts by Indonesian NGO Friends of the National Parks Foundation is leading towards a slow but progressive reforestation of damaged areas. Their reforestation work has seen the planting of thousands of saplings in the area to recreate habitat for the endemic wildlife in the area.

Tujuan kedua di Tanjung Puting: Pondok Tanggui. Malam sebelumnya, kapal klotok sandar disini buat tur malam.

tanjung puting national park

tanjung puting national park

reaksi bule masuk transmart

The waterfall was sooooo gorgeous and we had so much fun being there! Then we decided to eat fried duck (Bebek Goreng) at Bebek Goreng Martin Ungaran. It is the most popular place for eating fried duck. Watch how my German boyfriend ate fried duck with bare hands for the first time!

In this video, my German boyfriend was surprised on how to make Martabak. Then he tried Martabak Telor for the first time! Watch his reaction when eating Martabak Telor.

The next morning, we went to my previous workplace: SMA Tritunggal Semarang (Tritunggal Senior High School) and we met some of the teachers there.

MARTABAK is a stuffed pancake or pan-fried bread which is commonly found in the Arabian Peninsula and Southeast Asia, notably in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Thailand, thought it is created by Overseas Indian Muslims from Tamil Nadu, India settled in Southeast Asia and Arabian Peninsula. Depending on the location, the name and ingredients can significantly vary. The name mutabbaq (or sometimes mutabbag) in Arabic means "folded". It is a popular street food in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Murtabak is often described as spicy folded omelette pancake with bits of vegetables. It is the most common form of murtabak; which is egg-filled pancake, sometimes mixed with green onion and minced meat, made from pan fried crepes which is folded and cut to squares. In Indonesia, the Murtabak is one of the most popular street foods and is known as "martabak". There are two Indonesian versions: a savory with egg and meat, and a sweet one. In Indonesia, the savory beaten-egg filled martabak is called martabak telur to differ it from martabak manis, the sweet martabak folded pancake.

Watch my German boyfriend eat Indonesian Crispy Steak. He said that in Germany there is no such steak, lol! The next morning, I picked him up at C3 Hotel to go to church together. Before going to church, we ate Chicken Congee (Bubur Ayam), which is one of my favorite food. Watch his reaction in this video! :)

foreigner eats indonesian chicken congee

Bubur Ayam is an Indonesian chicken congee. It is rice congee with shredded chicken meat served with some condiments, such as chopped scallion, crispy fried shallot, celery, tongcay (preserved salted vegetables), fried soybean, Chinese crullers (youtiao, known as cakwe in Indonesia), and both salty and sweet soy sauce, and sometimes topped with yellow chicken broth and kerupuk (Indonesian-style crackers). Unlike many other Indonesian dishes, it is not spicy; sambal or chili paste is served separately. It is a favourite breakfast food, served by humble travelling vendors, warung (small local shops), fast food establishments, and five-star hotel restaurants. Travelling bubur ayam vendors frequently pass through residential streets in the morning selling the dish.

In this video, my German boyfriend ate Gulai Sapi, Sosis Bledex, Wedang Ronde, and Es Bubur Kacang Ijo. Watch his reaction eating these Indonesian street foods! :)

Wedang Ronde (or often abbreviated to just “round”) is a traditional drink native of Java, in addition to herbs and dawet. “Wedang” in Javanese means “drink”. While Ronde is a special batter consisting of a mixture of rice flour and brown sugar shaped dots and on the inside it contains crushed peanuts. To form Wedang Round, round dough is dipped in ginger water is still hot.

Bubur Kacang Hijau, abbreviated Burjo is an Indonesian sweet dessert made from mung beans porridge with coconut milk and palm sugar or cane sugar. The beans are boiled till soft, and sugar and coconut milk are added. It is sometimes referred to simply as "kacang hijau," meaning "green bean" (i.e. mung bean). Bubur means porridge. Slightly different names may be used in different regions of Indonesia, such as kacang ijo in Javanese areas. It is often served as dessert or snack; however, it is also a popular choice for breakfast or late night supper. In Indonesia, warungs that specialize in selling bubur kacang hijau are commonly found.

We went to Yogyakarta!! Yeaaah, we were so excited and visited 11 tourist attractions in one day! Here is the first part of our Yogyakarta trip which covers 4 tourist attractions. We were picked up at a McDonald's restaurant in Yogyakarta by our guide (the price was reasonable, we found an account named Ojek Yogya on Instagram).

The guide was so nice and kind to us. We were really satisfied by his service. First, we went to Geoforest Watu Payung, which is one of the newest tourist attractions in Yogyakarta. Then we took much selfies at Bukit Panguk Kediwung. The third place that we went to is Watu Mabur, which looks like a prehistoric site, lol. We love the stoney buildings there. Next, we were headed to Jurang Tembelan and we tried to be brave to take pics from the height.

My German boyfriend ate too much that day! We walked from C3 Hotel where he stayed to a food place that sells Gado-gado. Many said it is Indonesian version of salad. Then we walked along S Parman street, got into Alfamart to buy drinks and snacks.

bule makan street food

Next we found Es Pisang Ijo (Iced Green Banana) and Es Campur. Daniel was already feeling full after eating those two desserts, lol. We continued walking and went to Olive Fried Chicken to eat one fried chicken. It was sooo yummy and cheap! Daniel was interested in taking some pictures of buildings in Ungaran, such as mosque and government buildings. Later on we found Es Oyen, which is a typical dessert from Ungaran. This is Daniel's favorite since it has avocado in it. The price is also cheaper compared to Es Pisang Ijo and Es Campur. Actually we could add durian to it, but Daniel was afraid of trying Durian for the first time, lol. Daniel already gave up eating and we decided to go to Swalayan Luwes (Luwes Store), which is like a small version of "mall" in Ungaran. We got to the grocery section and bought some snacks. Later on we went to second floor because Daniel would like to see the electronics and other stuff there, including the kids playground. We also tried two different Walls ice cream, in coconut flavor and red bean flavor. It was his first time trying ice cream in red bean flavor, which is so unique and he would not find that flavor in his country.

To go back to C3 Hotel, we rode on Kopata (a small yellow public vehicle in Ungaran). When we got to his room, I showed a bit of view from his window pane. He really liked staying in that room because he could see the road from above, as well as the view of Ungaran mountain. In the evening, we ate at Aneka Sari restaurant with my mom. He chose Mie Ayam (chicken noodle) and Seafood Soup for dinner, and not to forget: sambal. We've been to Aneka Sari many times, cause it is located beside C3 Hotel Ungaran. The food is always so delicious and the restaurant itself is pretty spacious. Lastly, he tried Onde-onde, a sticky rice snack filled with sweet mung bean paste. The Onde-onde were brought by my mom and Daniel liked it so much! Haha, I know it was a long list of food that Daniel ate that day, but I just wanna show you that foreigner can be so curious about Indonesian food. We were really addicted to one of the beaches in Karimunjawa Islands! We enjoyed being there for some hours before we went back to the homestay in the evening. The sunset view was so beautiful!!

bule main di pantai karimunjawa

About Karimunjawa: Karimunjawa is an island chain stretching in a northwesterly direction 83 km from Jepara. Central Java. This archipelago is a cluster of 27 islands in the java sea. Only seven of the islands are inhabited. The reefs are a mixture of fringing, barrier, and patch with bottom depths ranging from 15 to 40 meters. The name of Karimunjawa is taken from Javanese language 'Kremun kremun saking tanah Jawi' addressed by one of Wali Songo (the Nine Saints who had introduced Islam in Java) to describe how far this mini archipelago from Java, to be exact from Semarang and Jepara. Stands from 27 islands, this mini archipelago became marine national park and it's like a treasure for those who love marine life. Here can be found protected coral reefs (very colorful plateaus and plains in deep and shallow waters), secluded and tranquil white beaches, pelican and hornbill, sea grass and kinds of sea creatures, from crabs, anchovy, starfish, sharks, stingray, jellyfish, red snappers, etc. The Marine National Park Karimun Jawa is 110,000 ha and lies 90 km north east of Jepara in Central Java. We will find mangrove forest and beach forest. The park is named after the largest island Karimun Jawa.

The vegetation consists mainly of mangrove and beach forest, although there is some lowland rain forest on Karimun Jawa. Most of the islands are surrounded by sandy beaches and fringing coral reefs. Fresh water is confined to a few small wells and forest streams on Karimun Jawa. A number of endemic animals live on the island while on the beaches sea turtles lay their eggs. The average tidal range is 92 cm. The archipelagic Karimunjawa, thought not as known the Marine reserves near Ambon and Manado, has unexpectedly good beaches, reefs and lovely sea scopes.

We finally got the tickets to go to Karimunjawa Islands! These islands are indeed a hidden paradise in Java, Indonesia!

bule snorkeling di karimunjawa

We snorkeled and had a good time there enjoying the clean beautiful underwater view. About Karimunjawa: Karimunjawa is a hidden paradise of Java, is an archipelago of 27 islands north of Semarang and off the coast of Central Java. The main island is Karimun and the second island is Kemujan. The two islands are like twins, just side by side and often mistaken one of another. Karimunjawa name literally means a stone’s throw from Java in Javanese. Karimunjawa islands are about 80 km northwest of Jepara, a small town in Central Java. It can be reached by a ferry boat from Kartini Port in Jepara for about 3 hours. The best time to go Karimunjawa would be during the dry season of April to October where the weather would be consistent sunny but humid.

The gear that I used to make this video: GoPro Hero 6 Black (in waterproof case). Please like, subscribe and comment. Thanks for watching! :)

We actually would like to go Karimunjawa Islands but we ran out of the tickets for the ferry, so we explored three beaches in Jepara instead. They were not bad! Those beaches are: Pantai Bondo, Pantai Empu Rancak, and Pantai Bandengan.

pantai indah di jepara

Before going, we ate Nasi Padang and you can watch Daniel reaction eating that spicy food. We enjoyed those three beaches and in our opinion, Bondo Beach is pretty instagrammable and has a lot of nice spots to take pictures, Empu Rancak Beach is quiet cause there were not many people when we got there (the sand is very clean here though!), and Bandengan Beach is the one with the most crowd (it reminded me of Kuta Beach in Bali). You will watch in this video that Bandengan Beach has indeed so many visitors as it is the most popular beach in Jepara. Daniel bought a new hat there at Bandengan Beach and we enjoyed the sunset view before we got back to our homestay and prepared for the next day's trip to Karimunjawa Islands!

In this video, Daniel and I explored a traditional market called Pasar Ungaran or Pasar Bandarjo in Semarang Regency. We bought some things, including chicken heads!

After that we rode on an "Andong" or "Dokar" in Javanese language and were headed to my home. In front of my home, there is a ricefield and Daniel was so excited to see the ricefield. It was a nice view indeed. At my home, Daniel met my mom, played with my cat and got massaged by an old woman who gave Indonesian traditional massage. After that Daniel tried eating chicken head for the first time. He was so afraid, lol! He successfully ate the brain but didn't want to try to eat the eye of the chicken head. He continued eating the other part of the chicken: wings, with much sambal! I have never known a bule could eat sambal that much! Last, we strolled along the ricefield in front of my house and enjoyed the nice view!

Watch this reaction of bule eating hot and spicy Siomay! Siomay is an Indonesian steamed fish dumpling with vegetables served in peanut sauce. It is derived from Chinese Shumai.

It is considered a light meal that is similar to the Chinese Dim Sum, but is cone shaped. It is traditionally made from tenggiri (wahoo) fish meat. Sometimes other types of seafood such as tuna, mackerel, and prawn also can be used to make siomay. Other complements to siomay are steamed cabbage, potatoes, bitter gourd, boiled egg, and tofu. Siomay is cut into bite size pieces and topped with peanut sauce, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce and a dash of lime juice.

In this video, we explored DP Mall, one of the malls in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. Not only the Carrefour part, we also watched a movie and ate Currywurst.

My boyfriend explained the difference of Currywurst with other sausages. He ate the Currywurst but seemed like he didn't really like Indonesian version of Currywurst, he still thinks that original German Currywurst is the best, lol! Then we enjoyed Bunderan Simpang Lima in the evening. We rode a funny-looking vehicle and captured many photos of the surrounding. Around 8 p.m. we were headed back to Ungaran and before I took him back to the C3 Hotel, we went to Superindo to buy some things that he missed so much: Pop Mie and Super Bubur!

After exploring Kota Lama, we were headed to Citraland Mall to eat sushi at Ichiban Sushi. This is the first time he tried to use chopstick. It was an epic fail of him to use choptick when eating sushi, lol. Check out our next video: After eating, we explored the mall a bit and then we went to other mall called DP Mall to watch a movie and my boyfriend also tried Currywurst at that mall. He still thought that original German Currywurst is the best one! Lol. Then we enjoyed our evening at Bunderan Simpang Lima, riding a funny-looking vehicle with much lights! That activity would be in our next video.

Menu-menunya memang mantap, porsi banyak, tapi harganya terjangkau. Pacar bule saya mencoba menu Es Teler, Bakmi Goreng, dan Lele Penyet. Nah yang lucu nih waktu makan Lele Penyet, dia makannya ala warteg gitu langsung pakai tangan, wkwk emang dia waktu pertama kesini udah saya ajarin cara makan ikan pake tangan sih, eh ternyata dia keterusan sampe sekarang kalo makan ikan selalu langsung pake tangan. Lebih sedap katanya!

Ga cuma langsung pake tangan, dia juga makan banyak sambal. Daniel memang suka banget sama yang serba hot and spicy, lol.

If you like the video, please give the thumbs up and subscribe yaa... Selamat menonton :)

2. Posong

Keindahan wisata alam Posong

Don't forget to follow me on my IG: @travelingika. Next kita kemana? 😃😄😊

Kasepuhan No.43, Kecamatan Lemahwungkuk, Kota Cirebon. Buka setiap hari mulai jam 8 pagi sampai jam 6 sore.

Kanoman No.40, Kecamatan Lemahwungkuk, Kota Cirebon.

Didalemnya...

Arsitektur Keraton Kanoman ga kalah unik

Ir. H. Juanda No.24, Cirebon.

Thank you Kuningan and Cirebon! 😁
